In Malachi’s day, worship was the culmination of a convenient faith. Why? Because he lived in a time where the people of God confused worship for self-righteousness and spiritual disenchantment. God’s solution to their apathy was to refine them as a blacksmith would refine silver (redemption) and gold (tried faith). His refining process teaches us a very important principle: whatever we do for the Lord, it ought to be our very best at all times.
